I have been researching on the Internet a lot on how to make my blog one of the best blogs available in the market. Mere keeping the blog title as “Best Collections of…” ain’t gonna do the trick; I realize this. There are a lot of things that I need to do to make my blog a successful blog. Well, after spending lots of time in continuous research on success and failure of the blogs, I have come to the following top 6 reasons why a blog fails:
- Blogging is all about passion. Do you have it! Well, if you are blogging just to “earn money,” then there is a high chance that your blog might fail! Yes. I am dead serious about my statement. Well, everybody wants to make money, and that is the ultimatum for developing a blog. However, if you do not have a passion for the subject you are writing and just concerned about “making-money,” then you will not survive even the early stages of blogging, as you would simply lose interest if it did not “yield you the results that you expected!”
- Do you have a patience and a persistence! Making a blog successful does take a lot of patience, hard-working, and persistence. Simply having a burning desire to lead doesn’t mean a thing if you can’t show persistence and patience. If nobody visits your blog, no problem, “Are you ready to talk to yourself!” Yes…that’s the idea. Just try to be patient, but persistent.
- If you don’t have a significant amount of loyal followers, then putting a ton of advertisement banners is severely gonna negatively impact your blog. For bloggers who have a huge fan followers, no matter how many ad banners they keep, people keep coming and visiting the site, but when a new blogger tries to follow this same idea of monetizing by keeping lots of ad banners etc., then the blog fails. So to make money from blog, you need to first and most importantly, establish a good amount of loyal readers, build their trust, and then you can go with monetizing your blog.
- Quality or Quantity. Which one would you choose? I would rather go with reading one incredible post in a week instead of seven useless posts. Well, if you can devote full-time to your blog such that you create seven incredible posts a week, that’s great!, but if you don’t have time and just want to throw in your poor contents, believe me, that’s the last thing you’d like to do to your blog.
- As a quote goes, “If you want to earn $100, don’t hesitate to lose $99 to achieve it!, you should not hesitate to invest in your blog as well. Yes, invest in your blog in terms of link exchanges, marketing in SEO, etc. Just focus yourself fully on what you do your best and leave the rest to some good marketiers who knows what he is supposed to do!
- Lastly, but not the least, never advertise crappy products. If you don’t have any idea on the product that you are advertising, it would just be misleading to your loyal readers. The main objective is to gain popularity by giving good advice on products that really “helps” people and not by building a website that sounds like a profit-driven salesman!
