Have you ever thought of exercising your brain? As we grow old, it is very important that we keep ourself mentally sharp, so let’s exercise your brain now. I’m always searching for best brainteasers, and when I find out something really interesting, I’ll post it. Having said that, I guess that gives you another reason why you should visit my blog frequently! :-)

Let’s find out then how sharp your brain is, with the following questions. Think carefully and answer the following three questions:

Question #1: Imagine that you are in a situation where you are condemned to death and have to choose between three rooms. The first room is full of assassins with loaded guns ready to shoot at you, the second room is full of lions that haven’t eaten for years ready to prowl on you, and the third room is full of raging fire that can burn you down in seconds! Which room will you choose? Why?

Question #2: Imagine that you are sent to a mental asylum, even though you resist that you are perfectly okay. The Medical Director then tells you that they will decide whether you need to be on the asylum or not with a simple test. You’re taken to a bathroom where a bathtub is filled with water. You are offered a teaspoon, a teacup, and a bucket and asked to empty the bathtub. Which one would you choose?

Question #3: Okay here is the last question. Six glasses are alternatively kept as shown in the diagram below.
How can you separate all the orange-liquid filled glasses and the empty glasses by just moving one glass?

Answer #1: If you’re smart, then you’ll of course choose the second room because the lions that haven’t eaten for years will all be dead! :-)

Answer #2: If you’re a normal person, why would you choose a bucket when you can empty the tub by simply pulling the plug!

Answer #3: Very simple. Just pour the second glass filled with orange-liquid in the fifth glass!

    You got me on #2…LOL

That was a really good one. When I looked at the answers I went like “what????” Hahahaha really good.

Technically the first question is flawed. Yes, the lions would probably be dead, but you go on to say they are ready to prowl (and you probably mean pounce, but that’s beside the point.) The point being, that detail negates the fact that they’d probably be dead by saying they are still alive. A dead lion would not be ready to prowl (or pounce). Regardless, I picked that because I assumed they’d be INCREDIBLY weak from the year without food.

The answer to the first question is definetely #1. If you have been condemned to death, the assumption is that you will have to stay in the room until you die. Now think of what will happen if you go to room#1 vs. room#2.

Technically I would rather be shot to death in the 1st room than die of boredom in the 2nd room so yea its the first room for me as well :p

I think its definitely good to keep yourself mentally active as you get older. I actually figured out that teaser, so does that mean I’m smart or not? That teaser seems familiar to another one, but I can’t quite remember what it is. It requires a little bit of out of the box thinking.
