Welcome! Since you are new to my site, would you like to subscribe to my RSS feeds? That way you'll never miss any of my interesting articles. Thanks for visiting! It seems it is not only I who is completely disappointed with the over-hyped launch of Cuil, the so-called most powerful search engine likely to be a googleslayer or a powerful alternative search engine to Google.
Let alone be a googleslayer or a googlekiller, this search engine has turned to be a disaster search engine where the results as shown by Cuil is not only uninteresting, but Cuil is even pairing random images with sets of search results!
I could not find any trace of my blog on the relevant results for the keyword search “Enfotainer” out of the 13 results, but that’s nothing compared to the fact that Cuil doesn’t even show its homepage as the first search result if you search for the keyword “Cuil” in the search engine. I really find this hilarious!

It’s no wonder why Friendfeed founder and former Googler Paul Bucheit made a harsh comment on Cuil stating:
“Maybe Cuil isn’t supposed to be good. They must know that the results are bad, but they launched anyway. Maybe they aren’t trying to build a full search engine, but just want to demo their crawling+indexing technology with the expectation that someone will buy the company and plug in better ranking.”
It seems that now if Cuil doesn’t come up sooner to meet up the hype and expectations that it promised, it can start packing up its bag and get going!

Cell Towers are one of the most important components to make sure that there is always an uninterrupted signal coverage and service. In fact, when we experience a broken signal more frequently, it immediately gives us a negative impression. So a good company would always require that it provide an uninterrupted, consistent signal coverage wherever we go!
Cellular operating companies, no matter how big it is, can’t however afford to establish towers of their own in all the areas to provide such consistent, uninterrupted coverage, and that is where cell tower lease buyout plays a role. I actually didn’t have a single clue that businesses such as cell tower lease buyout also exist, where the company is fully engaged in buying/leasing of the land, erecting and maintenance of the towers, and then even leasing out the towers to other telecoms or cellular operating companies at a reasonable price, hence relieving the cell companies from the heavy burden of huge investments everywhere for better network coverage!
In fact, many cellular operating companies are always interested in taking out such lease of cell towers which are strategically placed in areas such that it provides a wide area coverage, thus creating a win-win situation for both companies, which has made these kinds of tower leasing companies really boom!

Cuil (pronounced as”cool”) is another power search engine that just went live today, July 28, 2008, with an index of over 120 billion web pages, making it arguably the most comprehensive and extensive search engine on the web!
This project was founded by highly respected search expert Anna Patterson with her husband Tom Costello, along with two ex-Google engineers, who believe Cuil is a giant leap forward from the technology that powers the Google search. As a start, Anna states it has an index of over 120 billion pages which far exceeds the current Google’s index total. (However Google does not disclose the size of their index.)
Cuil claims that they have found a means to massively reduce the cost and at the same time provide an extensive and comprehensive search of a keyword, which most arguably is claimed to be comparable with the search giant, Google.
The algorithm used by Cuil is also very different. Google ranks pages based on the links of a particular page; however, Cuil claims to rank pages based on the actual contents on the page, hence providing more relevant results.
I just compared Cuil and Google for various keywords like “United States Of America.” Cuil returned just 6 million results while Google returned 55.7 million results. After searching through various words on both search engines, I found out that Cuil is not even getting 10% of what Google gets! (and I find it disappointing that Cuil only returned 13 search results for my blog keyword “Enfotainer” compared to Google’s 5,310 search results), but hey, don’t you think we should also consider the fact that Cuil has just been out a while ago while Google has had years of advantage in creating a perfect search engine!

Searching for a gadget table? If you are searching for a little bit different and unique types of “gadget table,” you’ll love this innovative design by John Nouanesing, named as “Paint Or Die But Love Me.” (The title does sound a bit weird to me though.)

Trust me, you’ll not need to hang a ‘Wet Paint’ sign on this crazy floating table with nice paint drips as legs.
If you ask me if it is real, no it is not real, but you’ve got to give this French designer some ‘thumbs up’ for his collection of concepts including this table which definitely looks so cool!

I could not stop writing about this as I came across so many fake alien videos on various sites, all of which equally claiming to be the original Jeff Peckman’s alien video. In fact, I even watched this video being broadcasted in IndiaTV recently, with catchy titles such as “Are The Visitors From OuterSpace Inspecting On Us,” “What Do They Want From Us” etc.! (I can’t imagine such reputed TV Channels broadcasted this fake alien video!)
More than a month has passed by since Jeff Peckman showed to the press the “so-called” real and authentic space alien video. The original video was briefly screened for reporters and the public at the Auraria campus on May 30, 2008, and it showed a 4 feet tall, narrow chin, and broad forehead classic ET-like creature.
Here is the official still image of the video handed out by presenters. Trust me, this still image is 100% real.
As you can see, in this official still image of the video, an alien is peeking over the window sill in the center of the photo. During the presentation, some people even claimed to see the eyes and muscles of the alien move during the two-minute video.
The interesting thing, however, is that immediately after Jeff Peckman promised to show evidence of space alien to the press, a Denver man started working to produce a fake alien video with a 4-foot-tall foam latex alien purchased from a costume shop, capturing the video of that puppet move up and down, etc. with a camera, and finishing the video with 3D animations that gave it a couple of blinks, and there it was - a 100% fake alien video which now claimed to be 100% real and authentic!

It is really wonderful that now even very poor students have easy access to the basics of computer and Broadband WAN Services and VoIP technology, thanks to programs like E-rate, which provides discount to assist most schools and libraries (which might lack adequate funding) in the United States to obtain affordable telecommunications and Internet access.
Discount for such support depends on the level of poverty, the urban/rural state, population served, etc. of the school, and this discount ranges from 20% to up to 90% of the cost!, thus making it much more affordable for many schools and libraries for better learning experience.
However, as this E-rate program is becoming more and more established, this process of providing E-rate broadband and VoIP services is becoming more and more complex. Trillion is one of the largest national provider of managed wireless and broadband services for the K-12 (Kindergarten to Grade-12) community and has an E-rate team who can assist you to provide Priority One E-Rate eligible Broadband WAN and VoIP services for K-12 education.
So, do you have better Internet connectivity and telecommunication/VoIP technology at your school/library?
If not, why don’t you persuade your administrative department to apply for an E-rate? Trillion’s WAN and VoIP services have consistently received Priority One E-Rate funding and has assisted over more than 1500 schools by providing step-by-step support through this much challenging E-rate process and hence helped many students get easy access to the basics of Internet and even VoIP technology for an ultimately better learning experience at a much cheaper administrative cost!

I could not stop wondering about how this Alexa system works when even after getting 757 visitors (increased web traffic) on July 4, 2008, my Alexa graph showed that I had less-to-insignificant traffic, irrespective of June 23 Alexa graph, which showed much more traffic with just 149 visitors! Here is my graph of Alexa web traffic.

I immediately started working to find my answers. As I started digging more to this matter, I found it interesting that Alexa web traffic does not actually measure the actual amount of visitors but a mere number of users who visits the site with “Alexa toolbar installed.” I guess that explains my question of inaccurate Alexa graph.
Unfortunately, advertisers and ad networks use this Alexa rank and Alexa web traffic to relate the worth of a link, and hence, Alexa ranking is important to everybody who are considering site monetization.
So, how do we improve our Alexa rank?
Here are my “Top 5 Proven Ways To Improve Your Alexa Rank.”
Top 5 Proven Ways To Boost Your Alexa Ranking
1. Install Alexa Toolbar: Since Alexa actually measures traffic from various users who use Alexa toolbar, doesn’t it make sense that you should also install Alexa toolbar in your browser? Yes, and in fact setting your blog as your homepage and loading it every day does help improve your Alexa rank to some extent. (However, constantly reloading your pages every minute/hour etc. won’t help you further increase your Alexa rank as Alexa counts a unique IP address once a day only).
2. Put Alexa Rank Widget On Your Website: If you put Alexa Rank Widget on your webpage (like above), Alexa can more accurately rank your site as it can collect traffic information of all those visitors as well who do not use the Alexa toolbar!
