@ Govind Sharma:

First of all, a warm welcome to my site.

Yes, I agree that End Of The World is probably inevitable as "nothing lasts forever." It's just the matter of time.

Based on my knowledge about Astronomy, I honestly believe ‘End of the World’ is probably imminent and inevitable but definitely not as early as December 21, 2012!

Yes. Thank you all for the comments.

And one thing, since we're talking about the future, i.e., December 21, 2012, we also are unsure if the oracles' prophecy are 100% untrue and wrong. (If we can predict that all the oracles are 100% wrong, we'll be the next oracle! :D )

So, as I said earlier, we can only watch these things with curiosity and skepticism and hope that all the oracles’ prophecy of doomsday are wrong and hopefully, as Non-Serviam stated, "when 12/22/2012 rolls around, we'll get up and enjoy our coffee like we’ve done every day prior." :D and "have a good laugh at those who took these things so seriously!"

I'm pretty sure the Nostradamus "predictions" of 9/11 were actually false and he didn't predict anything. Not only that, but he's had way more false predictions than true ones. Not to mention his "true" ones were simply vague statements that could be taken anyway you interpreted them.

Funny article, and a very amusing read!

There are some that take this seriously but ultimately it has the appeal every doomsday fantasy has had since the dawn of civilization.
But, a few key notes:

1. The mayans were great time keepers but knew nothing of black holes.
Black holes spawn celestial events near their event horizons, usually in the order of 100s of kilometers (Schwarzschild radius).
We are roughly 26,000 light-years away from galactic centre and the black hole there - a slight bias there.
3. Pole shift has nothing to do with the mantle "shifting". It is a change of the planet's axis of rotation. Even if mistaken with True Polar Wander or Geomagnetic Reversal, none of which cause anything cataclysmic, let alone in "days or hours".
4. Since there is no evidence of Planet X to even exist (or cousins of it), saying it will cause Noas flood II is unlikely, at best.
5. The bible code & Nostradamus:
Anybody who believes that the bible contains "code", let alone "bible code algorithms", is every salesman's wet fantasy. This statement is insulting the intelligence of even idiots.

On Nostradamus. If one predicts an event that is feasible however unlikely, it will ultimately come true. Imagining wars is not stretching the imagination. Especially when it comes to a specific time.

Apart from these small points, it is a most delicious scenario that apart from the appalingly bad science peppered with religious nonsense - a very familiar cocktail.

I give it 6/10.

In grue,

You really need to do more research, there is a reason why the Mayan calendar ends on that day, and it does have to do with our alignment of the milky way center. The star system that the Mayan calender is based on, will no longer be a reliable source for a calender. This is because of the alignment. The Mayans knew their star would no longer be available, but they lacked the knowledge of Astronomy to know why. So they figured it would be the end.

Polar shift has happened many times in Earths history. Eris has little effect on us, Earth has dealt with rapidly changing climates all it's life and will continue to do so. You need to understand that Earth has been through so much activity, and it is completely natural. Humans have just been lucky to live in a geologic down time, but has only been a fraction of a second of Earths life. I suggest you all go read and study Earth geologic time line. Also, Noah's flood never happened. Go research the science behind what it would take for Noah's flood to really happen, and you will see why it is not possible.
