I cannot get these images out of my head, this is one of the most disturbing things I have ever witnessed and if I could get my hands on the people responsible I would try to educate them about what they are doing, it that did not work I am not sure I would be able to hold my temper. How much can it possibly cost to inject a lethal dose drug that is quick and painless, how hard is it to let the animals live in the open in a little more natural setting. I wish I knew the answer to rendering this type of inhumane treatment obsolete, but I do not. I am an animal lover and a monthly contributor to the ASPCA, but sadly I must admit I own fur, HOWEVER I will never ever purchase fur again under any circumstances. My coat said humanely raised fur, origin Finland. How stupid could I have possibly been, I spend extra money for organic foods, humane certified meat products, cage free eggs, etc. and yet I was stupidly lured into believing these animals were treated well. I believe in moderation and living in balance with the environment and consuming animals is in fact a part of that, but there is a right way and a wrong way and this video is the wrong way One thing I noticed that no one mentions is the lives of the people dishing out this type of cruelty, no one of a civilized well educated place minus the clinically insane could treat another living creature like this. However, China is not very civilized and most of the population lives in great poverty (don't let the Olympics fool you) and virtually no education, this is how they feed themselves and their family, killing and skinning animals, they have little control over their own lives and derive some since of power by being able to have this type of sick control over another living being. The first thing to be done is never purchase fur, the second thing is to never purchase products made in China as many products that you would not suspect contain cat and dog fur, plus purchasing Chinese products only further supports their country while further diminishing our own by creating a greater dependence on substandard faulty Chinese products. Bottom line, I have read articles about clothes from China such as sweaters that may contain dog and cat fur, I have no hard core proof as of yet but no thanks I will buy from other countries or my own when possible.

We can write all the letters to China we want, but let's face it, it will not make a bit of difference there, we have to do it in our own country by asking our retailers to not carry fur, especially from China, and never buying it under any circumstances, no demand=no supply

And as helpless as many of us must feel by watching something like this we can make a difference in other animals lives by treating them well and taking care of the ones we have as a part of our lives

i wish i had more time to respond to this terrible cruelty and to some of the previous commments about it here on this blog. but the number one thing: no, lundix, in my opinion this was not faked. this video is part of the report you can read on the Humane Society of the United states website (http://www.hsus.org/about_us/humane_society_international_hsi/cruelty_issues_around_the_world/dying_for_fur_recent_investigation_shows_cruelty_at_chinese_fur_farms.html) and has also been taken up by PETA (http://www.peta.org/feat/ChineseFurFarms/index.asp). both sites have suggestions on what you can do (besides not buying fur, obviously!!!), in my opinion the best ideas are writing to Chinese officials (HSUS) and demanding Amazon.com follow the lead of Zappos.com and not sell fur (PETA).

dave: thank you for pointing out that cruelty happens in our own backyards, too, especially in factory farms. Animals feel pain, and i think this is morally relevant. therfore we should stop cruelty wherever it occurs. i also believe everything is interconnected, and where you see cruelty towards animals, you also tend to see abuse of workers and environmental degradation (factory farms are a great example). every dollar you spend is a vote. if you buy something, you are saying "yes! i like that, do it again!" so find out where the things you buy come from, how they are made, whether anyone suffers in this process. and then vote wisely and with compassion.
peace.

I was just thinking ...
What possible reason could there be to let these animals suffer that pain? The work's easier when the animal's dead, that's obvious. There is also the "disney-factor". We have, through Disney-like movies and folklore in general, adopted an empathy for animals. Only the truly sick would take any pleasure from systematic torture of animals, like shown in this video.
These reasons, and some others, leave me with a question. What proof do we have that this is real? Don't get me wrong, I'm not doubting the fact of animal cruelty being a constant problem, but this just seems too far-fetched. They have no logical reason to do this. Therefore, perhaps provoked by my father's mantra "The simplest explanation is usually the correct one," I find myself wondering if this is staged. By staged, I mean that it's coreographed and/or "photo-shopped". For what reason, most will ask. That I can't answer. Extreme activists, perhaps? Or just some of those guys who love to see their videos get spread world-wide over the web? People make computer viruses with no other purpose than destroying software and data, so it isn't really that increadible that someone would make this just to f*** with our heads.
Just a thought, really. One little part of my head is concentrating on that thought, while the rest of my brain's going "GIVE ME THEIR ADDRESSES!"
If any of you guys have some thoughts about the same thing, please share them.

Animals do feel pain as we do. Why these people are so cruel, why they are so so brutal, why they are so heartless ? Why they are not punished for such heinous crimes ?. They are taking off skins from live animals. These people are not realizing or understanding the extreme suffering they are causing to the innocent animals. That's why we have a responsibility to bring them to justice and apply similar suffering on them. This is the only way we can let them know what they are doing. Those helpless animals died ungraceful deaths in the hands of couple cowards and heartless beasts. The authorities who let those heinous crimes to happen are the real criminals. It is our responsibility to create a strong barricade around those stupids so that they can not move even an inch with their sinful heart. It is possible, and we can do it. In the human history there are millions and millions of examples where the brave men and women stopped the cruel beasts, eradicated them from the face of the earth and buried them for ever deep under the ground so that they can never germinate again. These animals are helpless, voiceless, and looking at us for help. We must help them, otherwise we will be guilty of irresponsibility.
