Welcome back!
This optical illusion is so cool and has been circulating since 2006! Carefully check the animated GIF below.

Do you see the dancer turning clockwise or anti-clockwise?
Actually, this animated image can be interpreted in two different ways - clockwise and counter-clockwise! However, there is no trickery used - the fact remains that the image is a constant 34-frame loop representing a full revolution of a dancer, and the effect in which the viewer perceives the dancer to be revolving clockwise or counter-clock wise is entirely caused by the ambiguous frames where the spinning dancer’s legs and arms cross over each other, making them perceived as turning both clock and counter-clock wise! If you’re just seeing the dancer turning one side, just try to focus and change the direction.
It has been assumed, however, that if you see this animated image turn clockwise, then you use more of the right side of the brain and vice versa, but though such conclusions seem flawed, it’s fun!

Yes seen this before. I can see the dancer turn both clockwise and anti-clockwise. At first I thought it’s a trick, but then later realised it’s not. Cool!
I can see it spin only clockwise. How does this turn anti-clockwise??
The cool thing is the leg extended changes depending on which way you see her spin.
I see it both ways. I thought at first my mind was playing tricks on me, but then I realized that if you look at it from the waist up you see it the opposite way you would in full view.
very nice…..
[...] only difference that these images are from the previous Spinning Dancer image is: This one has the legs marked as “L” and “R” which clears such [...]
I see clockwise turning and I would like to say thank you for visiting, I enjoyed your site.
I CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH - THIS ARTICLE HAS CHANGED MY LIFE. I URGE ALL HUMAN BEINGS TO USE THIS VALUABLE INFORMATION AS A LEARNING TOOL IN TEACHING THEMSELVES TO USE BOTH SIDES OF THEIR BRAIN & TRANSFORM THEIR LIFE IN SO MANY NEW WAYS.
IN THE LAST 6 MONTHS I HAVE READ EVERYTHING I COULD ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BRAIN. OUR LEFT SIDE IS OUR INTELLECT, BLACK & WHITE & CRITICAL & THE RIGHT IS OUR EMOTIONS & CREATIVITY & COLOUR - AS WELL AS MANY MORE FUNCTIONS NOT ON YOUR LIST. OUR THOUGHTS & OUR FEELINGS ARE WHAT MAKES US THINK & BEHAVE THE WAY WE DO. IT TOOK ME A FEW MONTHS TO MASTER IT, BUT I CAN NOW SWITCH MY BRAIN FROM EITHER SIDE & NOW SEE & FEEL MANY THINGS SO DIFFERENTLY. e.g I AM LEFT BRAINED & IF I AM BEING CRITICAL OR YELLING AT THE KIDS I CAN STOP MYSELF & SWITCH TO MY RIGHT SIDE & I THINK, SPEAK & FEEL IN A WHOLE NEW POSITVE WAY. USING BOTH SIDES OF THE BRAIN OPENS YOUR MIND UP TO A WHOLE NEW WORLD IN SO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS.
AT 43 YRS OLD I OFTEN THOUGHT I MAY HAVE HAD ADHD ALL MY LIFE DUE TO MY MOOD SWINGS, LACK OF CONCENTRATION & CONTROLLING BEHAVOUR. WHEN I AM THINKING WITH MY RIGHT BRAIN I DON’T HAVE ANY OF THAT, I AM TOO BUSY BEING CALM, HAPPY, CREATIVE, ARTISTIC, MUSICAL & SO MUCH MORE. THIS MAY BE WHAT IS WRONG WITH KIDS WITH ADHD - THEY SHOULD BE TAUGHT HOW TO USE BOTH SIDES. I URGE EVERYONE TO STUDY BOTH BRAIN FUCTIONS MORE. IT CAN BE PUT INTO PRACTISE BUT TAKES TIME, EFFORT & DETERMINATION.THE REWARDS ARE HUGE - IT IS THE GREATEST GIFT YOU COULD EVER GIVE TO YOURSELF.
Hi. I figured out the brain teaser. She is not turning all the way around, she is swaying back and forth. So imagine her back never turning against you and her face or profile always in view. Now I can see her sway back and forth instead of turn all the way clockwise or counter-clockwise.
I agree with Ali. If you watch the dancers shadow (at the bottom of the frame) then it does appear that she is only moving left to right and never makes a complete circle.
TOTAL NONSENSE. Animation switches from moving clockwise to counter-clockwise, and it doesn’t have anything to do with right or left brain thinking. When her leg on the right from your perspective is closest to the ground, it moves clockwise. When her leg on the left from your perspective is closest to the ground, it moves counterclockwise. I honestly don’t know what purpose it serves for people to make stuff up like this. Maybe they think they’re so much smarter than everybody else and want to make fools of us all.
je ne vois que le sens horaire
comment voir l’autre sens?
at first I saw it go counter-clockwise then scrolled down and looked at it again and saw that it was going clockwise…weird lol
