I am now 100% convinced that the Top 5 Proven Ways To Improve Your Alexa Rank really works in the new Alexa 2008 and that I have successfully cracked through the codes of Alexa to stay on top even with mere 500 visitors per day in average!

Here is a quick flashback of my posts:

- When I wrote my first post on Alexa on July 19, 2008, I had effectively implemented all the proven ways to improve my Alexa Rank.

- I also installed Alexa toolbar and Alexa widget as shown below.

I have been very carefully keeping an eye on my Alexa since my last post on “Top 5 Proven Ways To Improve Your Alexa Rank”, and you’ll be absolutely blown away with my findings. Here is my latest graph of Alexa rank for the past one month, in which my Alexa Ranking has drastically increased from 456,764 in July 19 (Actually, I remember posting a comment stating my Alexa rank at that time) to 192,165 currently with 1 week average Alexa Rank being 58,156!!

  • Note that my Alexa Rank has started increasing “drastically” exactly from around July 19, 2008, that’s when I wrote a post on Alexa with Alexa widget in it!
  • Also note my Alexa Rank has fallen exactly on August 4, 2008, that’s when the Alexa post went from my homepage (i.e. Page 1) to Page 2!
  • Of note, is that I am consistently getting around 300-500 visitors in an average per day. So basically, there hasn’t been any significant decrease in my visitors that would justify the Alexa downfall on August 4, 2008.

I think my hypothesis is correct as I could not help myself but wonder that the Top 5 Proven Ways To Improve Your Alexa Rank in fact really works in the new Alexa 2008!

As you can see, when I wrote my last post on July 19, 2008, I had immediately implemented all the ways to increase my Alexa:

1) Installed the Alexa toolbar both in my IE and Firefox.

2) Alexa rank widget was always there in my website from Day1, so there was no need to put the widget.

3) And most importantly, I wrote an article on Alexa with “Alexa widget” in the post as well, just like the one above.

I could not stop wondering about how this Alexa system works when even after getting 757 visitors (increased web traffic) on July 4, 2008, my Alexa graph showed that I had less-to-insignificant traffic, irrespective of June 23 Alexa graph, which showed much more traffic with just 149 visitors! Here is my graph of Alexa web traffic.

My Alexa Data Till July 16, 2008

I immediately started working to find my answers. As I started digging more to this matter, I found it interesting that Alexa web traffic does not actually measure the actual amount of visitors but a mere number of users who visits the site with “Alexa toolbar installed.” I guess that explains my question of inaccurate Alexa graph.

Unfortunately, advertisers and ad networks use this Alexa rank and Alexa web traffic to relate the worth of a link, and hence, Alexa ranking is important to everybody who are considering site monetization.

So, how do we improve our Alexa rank?

Here are my “Top 5 Proven Ways To Improve Your Alexa Rank.”

Top 5 Proven Ways To Boost Your Alexa Ranking

1. Install Alexa Toolbar: Since Alexa actually measures traffic from various users who use Alexa toolbar, doesn’t it make sense that you should also install Alexa toolbar in your browser? Yes, and in fact setting your blog as your homepage and loading it every day does help improve your Alexa rank to some extent. (However, constantly reloading your pages every minute/hour etc. won’t help you further increase your Alexa rank as Alexa counts a unique IP address once a day only).

2. Put Alexa Rank Widget On Your Website: If you put Alexa Rank Widget on your webpage (like above), Alexa can more accurately rank your site as it can collect traffic information of all those visitors as well who do not use the Alexa toolbar!
